Hey guys. Today I want to tell you how to compose a rider for your band.
Firstly why your band will need a rider? For sure you know that you will be play in the gigs and outdoors. So to simplify life of the gig organizer you can compose a document we will call like a “rider”. I have a big luck I seen many riders in my life, so I can give you some advices about how to compose really complement rider.
Let me specify what side of a rider I want to help you to compose. There are two rider sides I know. First part describes how many Coca-Cola you’ll need or how many securities you want to see. This are your fantasies or necessities I can’t know all about you want, so I will tell about second technical part.
What information you can provide organizer to help him? Unambiguously than detailed you will describe your claims than they will be best performed. That is why you need to specify all trifles like a drummer reserve sticks. Let’s begin.
Backline. What you need to describe here? Monitor lines quantity and power of the each monitor line. For example the standard band (5 members).
Monitor lines: 4
Monitor line amp power: 200W or higher
Monitor lines location: see stage plan.

Guitar stands: 3 QuickLock stands
Keyboard stand: 3-level stand or 2-level stand for keys and 1-level stand for laptop (QuickLock)
Guitar amps: 2 Marshall MG100 with MG412 cabinets or equivalent amps from Marshall, Crate, Peavey
Bass guitar amp: Ampeg BA-115 or equivalent from Ampeg, Hartke, Crate
Cables: input cables for all amps with a length more than 16 ft (5 m), 2 stereo cables for keys
Now we can tell about drum section. I will tell about band playing like-rock music. So, drum section.
Drum kit: Tama, Yamaha, Pearl
Bass drum: 22’’
First tom: 14’’
Second tom: 16’’
Floor tom: 18’’
Cymbal stand: 4
Snare stand: 1
Hi-Hat stand: 1

The last thing for backline is microphones kit. Here is the list for microphones.
Stands: 8 On-Stage stands QuickLock
1-st vocal: Shure SM58
2-nd vocal: Shure SM58
3-rd vocal: Sure SM 58
Bass drum: AKG D122 or Shure Beta 52
Toms: Drums Mic Pack Sennheiser E605 or BEYERDYNAMIC Opus 66
Snare: Shure SM57
Overheads and Hi-Hat: Shure SM98 or AKG C1000.
Also ask for direct-boxes in you rider. As a rule 5 direct-boxes will be enough.
